PUSH UPS TO FAILURE

I'm sore.

My pecs, lats, delts... even my neck.

Soooooo-re.

Yesterday I kicked off our 20 year wedding anniversary by doing push ups to failure with my son, Ben.

Well, actually... Ben did push ups to failure.

I did dips.
Push ups are easier to modify for the newbie lifter.

When you're done doing all the normal push ups off the floor... then you just grab a barbell and do more off the rack.

Modified push ups.

For Ben, we raised the bar twice.

So he basically banged out 3 drop sets of around 8-12 pushups consecutively... I haven't checked yet, but I'm sure he's sore too.
For me.

Dips.

Why?

For the exact opposite reason.

With dips it's easier to modify it for the experienced lifter by ADDING weights.

So I chained a 100 pound dumb bell to my waist and banged out 6 dips ---> then I dropped to 70 pounds x 5 ---> 45 pounds x 6 ---> body weight x 4

ONE KILLER SET TO FAILURE

Then we moved on....
  • Inverted Rows
  • Overhead Barbell Press
  • Chin Ups
Done.

Only four exercises, only one set to failure... and we're pumped!

I love how fast, intense and effective these workouts are.
If you're ready grow some serious gains and
want to experiment with this kind of training....

Anyway, that is my plug for the day.

The wedding?

It was nice.

We had some professional photos taken, but if you're eager to see then just follow Colleen on Instagram. She posted a few stories... I reposted them too.

Long day ahead of me... I've got like 10 Zoom calls, a podcast, and bunch of new videos to upload.

So I'm going to get rolling.
You... you're amazing.
Just thought I'd let you know.
