With careful observation we notice certain patterns in life.
We see the rise and fall of people, families, nations and empires.

We see vibrant green, sweet fruits and rapid growth in the spring and summertime...

Only to be followed months later by the dark, dying, decay of fall and winter.
We see God's grand plan of salvation for man by pouring himself into Christ, then allowing himself to die on a cross, only to be raised again.

In John 3:30 we hear The Baptist say in response to the arrival of Christ "He must increase, I must decrease".

It is both natural and divine law...
Something MUST be sacrificed for NEW LIFE to rise.
I spent a few hours this weekend replying to your email responses to the question:

What vices are you struggling to overcome?

Your answers were very enlightening.

I learned a lot about you.

One of the biggest take-aways was this...
you are not alone.
  • If you are struggling with lust, you're not alone.
  • If you are struggling with drugs, you're not alone.
  • If you are struggling with doubt, you're not alone.
  • If you are struggling with fear, you're not alone.
It seems most men are struggling with some variation of these vices...

I heard from teenagers, students in school... also successful business men, husbands, fathers and family men.

We come from all walks of life, but we have ONE common enemy.

VICE.

We all get to sacrifice vice, to dominate life.

Did you know the word DOMINATE comes
from the word DOMINION?

To dominate life means to reclaim dominion over
an area that has been occupied by vice.
By re-claiming dominion (dominating) you prepare the ground for new life.

But what exactly is this new life?

What will you replace in the empty hole left by uprooting vice?
In this first Daily Briefing "series" I will continue swinging a broad sword against our common enemy by digging deeper into his history, plans, strengths and weaknesses.

Then I will unpack our plan of TRIUMPH over our enemy as we raise our swords towards True North.

Finally, we will gain clarity and conviction for the new goals and mission.

I call it Divine Ambition (more on that later).
Together we are going to sacrifice vice and dominate life...
and God is always by our side.
We are NOT ALONE.
Enough for now.

I'll be back tomorrow.

Let the day begin.
